Growing up in Hermosa Beach, Marcus Fender was exposed to many different aspects of real estate investment. From his grandparents building and managing their apartment building in the late 1960's and early 1970's, the many family speculative financial & building ventures in Hermosa and Manhattan Beach, he was exposed to a wide variety of real estate strategies.
In the mid to late 1970's Marcus' exposure was expanded to the varieties of different markets as he traveled between family speculative ventures in both Santa Barbara and North San Diego Counties. In the 1980's through the early 1990's Marcus pursued a career in technology which allowed him to travel in Hawaii and Japan extensively.
In the mid 1990's he began to focus on the foreclosure real estate market in Los Angeles county. Preparing valuation / rehabilitation reports with time lines and ROI (return on investment) reports in support of private foreclosure investors for several years before obtaining his license. After becoming licensed, Marcus worked for a year as a commercial leasing agent for The Kaufman Group under the tutelage of the owner, John Kaufman. John Kaufman mentored Marcus with a strong emphasis on studying contracts, many of the firms clients being law firms. This was followed by eleven years in a small, local Redondo Beach brokerage where Marcus became proficient in loan structuring as well as residential sales. Marcus prides himself on integrity and and hard work, keeping an eye on the big picture while working to provide personal service tailored to those he serves.
